PPI – Regaining trust will take time

With more than two and half million Britons now out of work, there will be many who could benefit from PPI, but who will now be wary and suspicious of this form of insurance. The bad press that has lingered over this affair will dissuade many from this considering the PPI option.

The scandal of the financial services industry mis-selling PPI is still an open wound, one that will take quite some time to heal. The fact banks and other providers are still dragging their heels with regard to repaying the tens of thousands of innocent customers due compensation, does nothing to help restore damaged confidence and trust in our financial institutions.

It is easy and understandable to dismiss PPI policies as a scam, something not to be touched with even the longest of barge poles; but the mis selling of PPI doesn’t mean you shouldn’t protect yourself against illness or unemployment…if you are eligible!. It just means you should read the small print more carefully – because it’s going to be awfully hard to trust anyone for awhile. PPI has a bad reputation, but this is not the fault of the product itself.

PPI is financial protection for loans, credit cards, mortgages and other types of finance, and was intended to provide peace of mind and to cover your payments in the event you were unable to do so yourself due to accident, sickness or unemployment. But the insurance has been mis-sold to millions of people in the UK over that last 10 years, creating billions of pounds for the banks and finance companies that mis-sold it!

Many people were sold payment protection insurance when there was no chance they would ever be able to make a claim.  PPI policies varied from provider to provider, which just served to further complicate matters and confuse – couple this with underhand and dishonest selling techniques – and you end up with a great many people owed money, people from all walks of life. No one was exempt from this scam, all were fair game; young, old, servicemen and women, anybody!

Anyone who suspects they may have beenmis sold payment protection insurance should delay no longer, now is the time to take steps to get your money back. This is not a complicated process; just give one of our team a call and we will quickly help establish if there is money due to you. You’ll get an honest answer, one way or another.
